Grace Abbott School of Social Work

Self-described as “Engaged, Diverse, Ready for Service” the Grace Abbott School of Social Work trains students to work with community members on an individual and community level to help individuals and promote social change. The tradition of social activism embodied by Nebraska native, Grace Abbott, is continued with current and future students of the program as they work with mothers and families, immigrants, and victims of abuse in promoting change. The social work program includes both Bachelors and Masters level training for students. This school offers students research, service learning, and community opportunities for learning and development as a professional.

Master of Social Work

The accredited Master of Social Work program includes foundational and advanced standing level courses to meet the needs of students coming from various backgrounds. They also offer several unique opportunities to individualize your degree through the Managing Juvenile and Adult Population Certification and several dual degrees with the Masters of Social Work and a secondary degree of Master of Public Administration, Master of Science in Criminology and Criminal Justice, and Master of Public Health. The Master of Social Work program also offers scholarships that are available for applications on the program website.

This accredited social work program in Omaha, Nebraska has been accredited since 1940 and offers certification that allows graduates to utilize the title of “social worker.” The certification program requires completion of the appropriate Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) exam in addition to the degree completion.
