The cost of a college education continues to rise. Fortunately, so does the amount of available financial assistance. Here are five scholarships for those seeking a bachelor’s degree.
Cameron Impact Scholarship
The Cameron Impact Scholarship is one of the most generous available. The Bryan Cameron Education Foundation awards two of these scholarships per year. Each totals up to $50,000, as it is intended to cover all aspects of a full year of college education. The funds may be used for tuition, institution fees, books, supplies, equipment, and any other course- or institution-specific costs. It is simple, yet not easy, to qualify for application for this award. Applicants must demonstrate both high academic achievement and a commitment to community service.
Davidson Fellows Scholarship
The Davidson Institution seeks to reward young contributors to the academic world through the Davidson Fellows Scholarship. Eligible applicants are individuals 18 years old and younger who have completing a piece of work in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, Literature, Music, Philosophy, or in an area Outside the Box. Not only do the recipients earn, $50,000, $25,000 and $10,000, but they are also provided with the opportunity to travel to Washington D.C., where they present their works and receive honors at Congressional meetings.
Jack Kent Cooke Young Scholars Program
The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation seeks to assist the college hopefuls who need it the most. Eligible applicants must demonstrate both high academic achievement and significant financial need. Academic achievement is measured by GPA (must be 3.5 or higher) and test scores (top 15% on the SAT or ACT). The award totals up to $40,000 and is renewable pending continued academic achievement and financial need. First-time recipients must also already be enrolled in college for the coming fall. The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation also offers an undergraduate transfer scholarship for students who have begun their academic journeys at community colleges.
Elks National Foundation Scholarship Programs
The Elks National Foundation provides 500 students with four-year scholarships annually. This is a competition-based award, in which applicants are judged on leadership skills, academic achievement, and financial aid. Students can be high school seniors or equivalent adult learners, and they do not need to be affiliated with the Elks. The top 20 recipients will earn the chance to attend the completely complimentary Leadership Conference in Chicago. Of these 20, the top two will receive $50,000, two will receive $40,000, two will receive $30,000, and the remaining 14 will receive $20,000. The 480 other chosen recipients will receive $4,000.
