Reaffirmed by the CSWE through 2020, Delaware State’s Social Work MSW offers an engaging 16:1 student-faculty ratio for learning the intervention principles used to empower vulnerable populations in advanced generalist practice. The 60-credit curriculum is completed in four semesters full-time or 10 semesters part-time with courses from social welfare to adult psychopathology. Emphasis is placed on social problems afflicting Black communities, especially racism and health disparities. Four field practica are required at placements like Dover Behavioral Health, The Salvation Army, Gateway Foundation, and State of Delaware. MSW majors could also pledge Alpha Delta Mu, join the Graduate Student Association, research in the DE Center for Health Promotion, and take missions abroad to Peru or Tanzania.
